Dorothy L. Archer BarrettBorn September 15, 1914 to Bert and Minnie (Cooper) Archer in the small Hendricks County town of Pecksburg, Indiana, Dorothy passed from this earth to the care of our Lord on Thursday, November 17, 2005.Graduating from Amo High School in 1932, Dorothy came to live in Indianapolis that same year to pursue an education in business. At her time of her retirement in 1983 she had completed 32 years with the Bridgeport Brass Company, holding the position of executive secretary to the Plant Manager for many of those years.Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Burnis and Warren (Zeke) Archer, and sister Mary Frances Therber.Survived by daughters Mary (Loutt) Berndt and Betty (loutt) Jones, brothers William Wilson of Stronghurst, IL and Leonard Archer of Morgan Hills, CA, Dorothy also immensely enjoyed her close relationship with nine grandchildren, ten great-grand children, three great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Services will be held Monday, November 21 at 12:00 Noon at First Baptist Church of Indianapolis, 8600 N. College Avenue with visitation from 10:00 A.M. till 12:00 Noon prior to the service. Burial will be at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.Tributes will be accepted at the north door of the church beginning at 8:00 A.M. Monday morning, November 21st.

    Dorothy was much more than a neighbor and a good friend for many, many years. She has always been like a Mother to me. We have shared lots of hours talking and drinking coffee together. She will be truely missed and will always remain in my heart and thoughts.Mary
